What is the Booster Club?

The Portland Winterhawks Booster Club consists of fans that enjoy the game of hockey and the skills of the players involved and wish to help these young gentlemen after their junior careers are over.

How do we do that?

We do this by having fund raising events during the year. Some of this money that is raised during these events is presented to the Winterhawks Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) at the end of the season. This fund is used for those players who do not go on to play pro hockey and wish to go to college, but may have a hardship that prevents them from attending college. For each year a player plays in the WHL they are eligible for one year of ongoing education.

The Club also provides donations to Junior Hockey Programs in the Portland Metro Area as well as donations to local community charities and programs.

How many events do the Boosters have?

The Booster Club schedules up to six (6) meetings per season to discuss events promoted by the Booster Club and its ongoing fundraising programs. Often, a special guest such as a representative from the team or the Coach will come in to speak and answer questions.

Located at the Booster Club table at every home game and at most events, the Booster Club has player picture buttons and hockey buttons for sale.

The Meet and Greets are held monthly during the regular season. It is an opportunity to have pictures taken and obtain autographs.

Booster Club members help the Winterhawks at a variety of team functions. Including, but not limited to autograph sessions, team skate events or other events where assistance is needed. It's a great opportunity for Booster Club members to meet other Winterhawks fans. Want to volunteer to help? Stop by the Booster Club table or talk to the Booster Club Board at one of the monthly meetings during the season.

How do I join?

Fill out the membership FORM, and bring it to the Booster table at any home game. Or, stop by the Booster Club table during any home game and sign up.
